My Green Lab Certification Logo & Trademark Usage Guidelines
My Green Lab (“MGL”) owns the following marks (“MGL Marks”) associated with the My Green Lab Certification Program. The MGL Marks may only be used by entities who have laboratories that are compliant with MGL’s certification program and have received certification that gives explicit approval from MGL to use the general certification and specific certification level MGL Marks shown below. Failure to comply with the guidelines below may involve MGL’s revocation of your ability to use the MGL Marks.

Authorized Usage
- The MGL Marks may only be used in reference to specific laboratories that have been issued a certification by Impact Laboratories.
- Certification is valid only for the specific certified laboratory and should be used solely on materials that reference the certified lab.
- The marks may be displayed on physical plaques, websites, and marketing materials directly associated with the certified lab.
- The marks may be used in accordance with the certification level achieved (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, or Green).
- The marks maybe be included alongside clear and factual certification claims
- Example: Company A is Certified Green by My Green Lab. Instead, always be specific on the scope of the certification and claim: Example: Lab at Company A has Been My Green Lab Certified at the (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, or Green) Level.
- Always write My Green Lab Certification as a proper noun in text. The ™ symbol must appear next to "My Green Lab" upon first use in text and capitalize the first letters of each of the three words.
- A My Green Lab™ ownership statement must be included when displaying the marks.
- Example: “The MY GREEN LAB™ trademark is owned and controlled by My Green Lab, Corp. More details at http://www.mygreenlab.org.”
- A minimum of ½” clear space must be maintained around all sides of the MGL Marks to prevent overcrowding with other design elements.
- A width of 1.25”, 31.75 mm, 120 px or higher must be used for the ACT Mark to maintain clarity and brand integrity.
Prohibited Usage
- No organization wide use: The marks must not be used in a general way to describe an organization, business, department, building or other entity, unless all labs within that organization have been certified.
- No Implied Endorsement or Affiliation: The MGL Marks must not be used in a way that implies or is construed as MGL approving, endorsing, or otherwise being affiliated with any of your products or services beyond the scope of certification.
- No Brand Disparagement or Harm: The MGL Marks must not be used in any way that disparages, damages, or otherwise harms My Green Lab’s reputation, brand, or its certification programs.
- No Misrepresentation: The MGL Marks must not be used to imply that an organization, product, or service is certified unless all relevant criteria are met.
- No General Product Labeling: The marks may not be used to describe products, labels, packaging, or any other materials in a way that implies MGL has approved or endorsed a product.
- No Misleading Claims: The marks must not be used with vague and misleading terms such as "Eco-Conscious" or "Green Certified." Instead, certification must be explicitly stated, e.g.,
- Incorrect: “Company A is Certified Green by My Green Lab.”
- Correct: “The [specific lab] at Company A has been My Green Lab™ Certified at the [Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, or Green] Level.”
- No Expired Use: The certification is valid for two years from the date of issue. The MGL Marks must not be used if certification expires and cannot be used until its renewal. Unauthorized use of expired marks is strictly prohibited.
- No Modifications:
- The MGL Marks must not be altered in any way, including resizing, recoloring, or distortion.
- Other logo or design elements must not be within ½” of clear space to the logo.
- MGL Certification Marks must not be reduced to anything smaller than a minimum width of 1.25”, 31.75 mm, 120 px to maintain clarity and brand integrity.
- MGL Certification Level Marks must not be reduced to anything smaller than a minimum width of 0.792”, 20.12 mm, 76 px to maintain clarity and brand integrity.
ACT Logo & Trademark Usage Guidelines
My Green Lab (“MGL”) owns the following marks (“ACT Marks”) associated with its program that certifies laboratory products and equipment that meet its requirements on sustainability. The ACT Marks may only be used by entities who have laboratory products and equipment that are compliant with MGL’s program and have received explicit approval by receiving an ACT Ecolabel from the program’s third-party verification organization, Sustainability Strategy and Management (SMS) Collaborative to use one or more of the ACT Marks shown below. Failure to comply with the guidelines below may involve MGL’s revocation of your ability to use the ACT Marks.
Authorized Usage
- The ACT Marks may only be used for specific products and SKUs that have been awarded an ACT Ecolabel by the third-party verification body, Sustainability Strategy and Management (SMS) Collaborative.
- Whenever possible, the full ACT Ecolabel must be displayed, or a QR code/hyperlink directing users to the product’s ACT Ecolabel page must be included.
- The ™ symbol must appear next to “ACT” upon first use in text.
- The ACT™ ownership statement must be included when displaying the marks.
- Example: “The ACT™ trademark is owned and controlled by My Green Lab Inc. More details at https://act.mygreenlab.org.”
- The Helvetica Black font must be used when displaying the ACT wordmark.
- A minimum of ½” clear space must be maintained around all sides of the ACT Marks to prevent overcrowding with other design elements.
- Horizontal ACT Marks must use a minimum width of 1.25”, 31.75 mm, 120 px to maintain clarity and brand integrity.
- Vertical ACT Marks must use a minimum width of 0.792”, 20.12 mm, 76 px to maintain clarity and brand integrity.
- Always capitalize "ACT" and use "My Green Lab™ ACT™ Ecolabel" in the first instance in text.
- Example: The My Green Lab ACT™ Ecolabel is the first ecolabel for lab equipment and supplies that provides transparent, third-party verified data to help scientists and procurement teams make sustainable choices.
Prohibited Usage
- No Organization-Wide Use: The ACT Marks must not be used to imply that an entire company, facility, or product line is certified since it can only be applied to specific products unless all products from that facility meet the ACT certification requirements.
- No Implied Endorsement or Affiliation: The ACT Mark must not be used in a way that implies or is construed as MGL approving, endorsing a company, product or service. The mark only communicates that the specific product received the My Green Lab’s ACT Ecolabel.
- No Endorsements: The marks must not be used to suggest that MGL endorses or approves a company, product, or service.
- No Brand Disparagement or Harm: The ACT Marks must not be used in any way that disparages, damages, or otherwise harms My Green Lab’s reputation, brand, or its program offerings.
- No Misleading Claims: The marks must not be used with vague or misleading statements such as "Eco-Conscious" or "Green Certified."
- Incorrect: “Company A’s Eco-Conscious Products have received a My Green Lab ACT Ecolabel.”
- Correct: “Specific Product at Company A has received a My Green Lab™ ACT™ Ecolabel.”
- No Unauthorized Use: The ACT Marks must not be used without explicit permission from MGL and must comply with the program’s terms and conditions.
- No Expired Use: The ACT Marks must not be used if certification expires and cannot be used until its renewal. Unauthorized use of expired marks is strictly prohibited.
- No Modifications:
