The green lab community has grown and evolved extensively over the last 5 years, engaging thousands of scientists in developing a mindset of sustainability and changing their daily behaviors in the lab. As this community continues to grow, we need input from the leading green lab practitioners around the world to ensure our My Green Lab Certification program best supports the scientific community and consistently drives measurable impact. My Green Lab is also committed to transparency and community collaboration in the development of our programs, so they continue to reflect best practices in the rapidly evolving scientific community.
We are currently seeking passionate and knowledgeable green lab leaders to become volunteer My Green Lab Technical Advisors.

The advisory committee will be asked to make the following commitments during the 2022 calendar year
Tentative Timeline:
- Fully manifest the vision and mission of My Green Lab
- Bring accountability, consistency, transparency to application and verification
- Seek to be the gold standard representing leading thinking in the industry, grounded in science, and verified to have impact
- Ensure adherence to the standard is technically and economically feasible for a wide range of participants from commercial to academic labs
- Empower individuals to drive actionable change and build a culture of sustainability
- Back actions up with the necessary research and resources to implement those actions
- Harmonize with globally recognized standards, systems, and best practices wherever relevant and possible to ensure integrity and promote adoption of the standard.

Tentative Advisor Roles and Time Commitment:
The advisory committee will be asked to make the following commitments during the 2022 calendar year
- Attend a 60-minute orientation meeting covering the project goals, timeline, and guiding principles
- Provide written comment on a program proposal from My Green Lab
- Attend a 2-3 hour workshop to develop the framework and concept for the certification program as well as data reporting requirements
- Provide written recommendations for achievement or reduction targets in energy, water, waste, procurement, and organizational structure
- Attend 2 to 3 1-hour meetings to align on framework and achievement or reduction targets
- Review and provide written comment on a Certification Standard document (developed by MGL)
- Provide written recommendations on existing resources to support achievements or reductions and resources that need to be developed
- Support Research and Develop Priorities as needed/interested

- Select Advisors in February
- Orientation meeting in March
- Workshop meeting in June
- Working meetings in July to September
- Stakeholders Identify Resources in September
- First Draft of Full Program in September
- Public Comment Period in October
- Program Pilot in January 2023
- Program Released in May 2023
